DVA funded therapy for Veteran Card holders in Byron Bay

Counselling and psychotherapy for veterans and family members, for trauma and other issues. In person or by video link.

Eligibility

You need to have a DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) Veteran Card (Gold or White).

The process

  1. Contact me to check my availability, and so I can give you my details for you to give to your GP

  2. Ask your GP to refer you to me using a DVA Referral form

  3. Contact me to make an appointment.

What therapy looks like

Same as with everyone else. One-on-one. Collaborative. At your pace.

For how I work with trauma, see this page.

What does it cost?

There’s no cost to you. I invoice the DVA.

Where?

In person at my Byron Bay practice or by video link.

How long are the sessions?

50 minutes, but they can be 90 minutes if needed.

How often?

How often you come is up to you.
Once a week is a good starting place.
It can of course be less often if you’d prefer that.
You’ll have 12 sessions to use as you like.
And if you need more, you can ask your GP to approve an additional 12 sessions.
